Vacation Training Programme on Bio-Resources

M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Kalpetta is organizing a Vacation Training Course with the support of National Bio-Resource Development Board,Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India  from 1st week of May, 2013 for students who have completed Class X Exam in March 2013. The course is a residential programme to be held at the Community Agrobiodiversity Campus, Kalpetta, Wayanad. The course is intended to provide basic knowledge in the broad area of Biotechnology and Biodiversity Conservation. The number of seats is limited to 30 for the entire state of Kerala ensuring equal participation of boys and girls. The participants will be provided free boarding and lodging during training. A certificate of participation will also be awarded at the end of the course.

Objectives To inculcate among students an appreciation of the biological resources of the country, their sustainable use and conservation To develop an understanding about the future avenues and challenges in the field of bioresource management of our country To motivate students towards careers in science and technology by making them aware of the emerging technologies those have applications in maintenance and enhancement of bioresources

Students are encouraged to apply by enclosing their bio-data, bona-fide certificate from the school, an essay on critical environmental issue in their locality, one page write-up explaining how the programme will be useful to them. The last date for receipt of applications will be April 30, 2013. (Download Application Form)
