PLANTING 1000 NEEMS IN THE VILLAGE !
The flagship project of this unit-PERHAPS THE FIRST AND UNIQUE IN THE STATE-was inaugurated at 4 PM ON SATURDAY 11/08/2012 by our honourable MLA Sri .K.KUNHIRAMAN ( of Thrikaripur constitution ) in a festive function under the blessings of Sri. SIVAKUMAR .V.P (HONOURABLE MINISTER OF HEALTH,KERALA) as the minister ( who was to inaugurate the project )was not able to attend the function due certain technical problems in his schedule. The meeting was chaired by Smt.Mini Cheriyan,the Block Panchayath member,attended by a host of social workers and people's representatives in the area.
Mr.SANTHOSH.K.V (WARD MEMBER) welcomed the gathering and Baiju.K.P (ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBER,NSS UNIT) extended a vote of thanks.
The PTA EXECUTIVE MEMBER SAJEEVAN. KAMBALLUR( CONVENOR OF THE ROGRAMME COMMITTEE;TRADITIONAL MEDICAL PRACTITIONER AND THE OFFICE BERARER OF THE LOCAL PARTCIPATING AGENCY-SANJEEVANI OUSHADHASALA,KAMBALLUR)presented a report of the project in the meeting.
All the kudumbasree members and the local NGOs have cooperated with the planting of neem in ward no.13 and 14 of EAST ELERI PANCHAYATH.500 plants were distributed yesterday itself.
The remaining work will be completed this week.
THE VOLUNTEERS OF NSS and the other clubs in the school HAVE ACTIVELY PARTICIPATED IN ARRANGING THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE PLANTS AND WILL BE DOING MANUAL LABOUR TO PLANT HE TREES AND TO INSTAL THE PROTECTIVE FENCES FOR THE PLANTS.
WE THANK KUNHIRAMETTAN, OUR HONOURABLE MLA WHO HAS TAKEN A KEEN INTEREST IN THE PROJECT.
